Privacy policy
Last updated: 06/10/2026
This is the English version of our privacy policy, provided for convenience. Montered is a project based in Spain, so your data is processed under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish law. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
Who is responsible for your data
Montered, a project that hasn't launched yet: today we only run a waitlist and the Field Journal, and we don't sell or charge for anything. For any privacy matter, email us at [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days. Before accepting any payment, we'll publish the full details of the company that owns the project here.
What data we process and why
- Waitlist (your email, what you want it for, how many you'd need, what you use today and the language of the site you signed up from): to tell you about the launch, invite you to field tests and understand what you need. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Field Journal (newsletter): your email and the topics you're interested in, to send you at most one email a month with news, guides and the launch announcement. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 21 of the Spanish e-commerce law, LSSI). We use double opt-in and keep the date and the version of the text you agreed to. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email.
There are no sales or orders on this website today. If that changes, we'll update this policy (order, payment and billing data) before asking you for anything.
We don't sell your data or use it for third-party advertising. We don't profile you or make automated decisions about you. Our emails don't track opens or clicks.
AI assistant
The assistant on this website is an artificial intelligence system, and we always say so. It only loads when you press its button. It runs on AFABLIA's agent platform, which uses a language model from OpenAI to generate answers.
You can also talk to it by voice. The microphone only turns on when you press the voice button and allow it in your browser. The audio goes straight from your browser to OpenAI, which turns it into text and generates the spoken reply in real time. We don't keep the recording; the transcript is only shown on screen during the call. Each call lasts a few minutes at most.
When you type to it, the conversation text is sent to that platform and stored there, together with a random identifier for your browser, so the conversation can continue, questions can be answered and replies can be improved. We don't match it with the waitlist. You can ask us to delete a conversation by emailing [email protected].
AFABLIA and OpenAI act as data processors. OpenAI may process data in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Please don't type personal data into the assistant. Legal basis: your consent when you use it, and our legitimate interest in answering questions.
The app's future AI reports will also use AI: only device statistics will be sent (distances, times, positions and device names), never your personal data, and they will be optional.
Social media
We have profiles on X: @montered (in English) and @montered_es (in Spanish). This website doesn't load any X button, pixel or content: there are only links. If you follow us or message us there, X Corp. processes your data under its own policy, and we only see what the network shows publicly. We don't take data from social media for the waitlist.
Who else processes your data (processors)
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting for the website and the database.
- Resend: sending emails (confirmations and the Field Journal).
- AFABLIA (agent platform) and OpenAI (language and voice model): the AI assistant's written and spoken replies.
- Google Ireland Limited: web analytics with Google Analytics 4, only if you accept analytics cookies.
Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
- Waitlist and Field Journal: until you unsubscribe or, at most, 3 years after launch if you're not interested. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email blocked for as long as needed to prove consent and make sure we don't write to you again.
- Conversations with the assistant: 12 months at most.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw your consent at any time, by emailing [email protected]. If you think we haven't handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or to the data protection authority in your own EU country.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the GDPR and Spanish law.
